The next important process is to hire a Home Inspector. Often times a home looks in great condition but you never really know until it has had a professional home inspection. Home inspectors are trained to inspect all the major components of the home and educate the buyer about normal maintenance of those components.  If major problems or even minor repair issues are found, the inspector will recommend that a licensed professional in that particular trade should further investigate or repair/replace the problem item. Often times the problem is able to be repaired/replaced by a competant handyman. That is the choice of the buyer. One of my recommended home inspectors is Dave Berry.
